What time is it?

This weekend, with Mommy and Daddy still in bed, Nathan strolled into our bedroom. He was his usual quiet self for about 30 seconds, and then began the weekend ritual of climbing over and jumping on Daddy. Over the past few weeks, Nathan has been learning the beginnings of telling time, so when I looked at the clock and saw that it was exactly 8:00, I asked Nathan, "What time is it?" Nathan replied, "Eight o'clock." Moments later, the digital clock changed to 8:01. David brought the change to Nathan's attention by saying, "Look Nathan. Now it is eight-o-one." He said the letter "O" instead of "zero" to which Nathan stated, "Daddy, it is eight-zero-one. Clocks don't have letters. Only numbers." Rather astute for a three year old.
